While the SNK Foundation is committed every day to supporting Cameroonian youth by offering them concrete opportunities, it doesn't forget that the future cannot be built without memory.
This is why it gives an essential place to the **recognition of our elders**.
It is in this spirit that a visit was made on December 21, 2024, to the **House of New Hope in Mfou**, where Mr. Nbienou had the honor of speaking with these men and women who carry within them the roots of our identity. Their wisdom, resilience, and journeys are all beacons that illuminate our collective path.
Essential figures in our communities, elders deserve to be listened to, respected, and valued. Too often relegated to the background in a constantly moving society, they nonetheless embody the living memory of our culture and the lessons of our history.
As Amadou Hampâté Bâ rightly reminded us: "In Africa, when an old person dies, it's a library burning."
At the SNK Foundation, we choose to preserve these human libraries, to honor them, and to draw on their experience to build a more enlightened future.
